SOUNDS AND STUFF - THE ATARI MUSICIAN'S TOOLKIT
*********************************************************************
Floppyshop are pleased to announce the release of their fifth CD-ROM
title for Atari computers. Sounds and Stuff is a CD-ROM
specifically compiled for the Atari musician, with literally
hundreds of odd, exciting, useful, and fun Public Domain and
Shareware music programs. These include sample convertors,
players, editors, trackers, utilities, MOD players, MIDI tools,
sequencers, generic and synthesizer-specific librarian editors, and
MID file players. Some useful non-musical utilities are also
featured (including mono emulators, virtual screen drivers and
other weird configuration tools), as is over 20Mb of
Falcon-specific stuff (direct-to-disk recorders, and other audio
bits and bobs), a small selection of games that run on mono
monitors, a helping of interesting text files on audio and MIDI
programming matters (with lots of source code to try out) and even
a fully working version of Sound Chip Synth v2.32.
From the outset we decided that a high standard had to be
maintained throughout this compilation. With this in mind, we
enlisted the help of Electronic Cow's Danny McAleer to take
charge of the project. Now Danny's a bit of a perfectionist and
wasn't content with just putting the music content of our PDL onto
the CD. He started off by wading through all our stuff and ended
up discarding at least 40% of it! He then checked out the best
music sites on the Net and added software from there.
Finally, he included Electronic Cow's entire sample library as
well as a number of Electronic Cow releases. Needless to say,
we would like to thank Danny for the enormous amount of work he
has put into compiling this CD.
Here's a quick rundown of the contents of the CD-ROM...
* Nearly a thousand high quality 16-bit AVR samples covering a vast
range of instruments. There's bass sounds (acoustic and
synthesized, including the TB303!), synthesizer sounds from
analogue and digital synths (instruments such as the Korg T3, Roland
SH101, Juno 106, JX3P and Yamaha DX7), percussion loops and single
hits (from the Linn drum, TR808, 606 and 909 amongst others),
orchestral instrumentation and vocal samples.
* Hundreds of music files in MOD, Pro 24 SNG, Quartet and standard
MIDI file formats, covering classical, jazz, pop, drum programming
and other genres.
* Librarians and sound editors for most modern popular MIDI
synthesizers including Korg, Roland, Kawai, Akai, Yamaha, Ensoniq
and Casio.
SOUNDS AND STUFF - THE ATARI MUSICIAN'S TOOLKIT, is available now for
only 25 pounds + P&P (UK 2 pounds, Europe 3 pounds, ROW 4 pounds).
